wordpress not saving
-
Hi, I’ve spent hours working on a new template for a paid subscription, and after saving, numerous times before preview that when I did click preview, the post displayed was the old template. I go back using the back button to see that all of the work is gone.
Why is this happening? I’ve spent about 12 hours working on getting this up and running to only have my site (which I paid for last night, + the domain) now not working. I am experienced with wordpress and manage another site, so I am not sure what is going wrong.
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No

I’ve found where the newsletter template is, and now have problems with looking to leave areas open for text to be added. To bring the template into a post, I make the selection from the right side bar, although see nothing until I select to preview it. After this, I cannot add text/copy into the areas that need to be open for this information. I thought the content block was to be a placeholder for text. I’m following along with “Using page templates” on the WordPress YouTube channel.

Update. I can now type into the block in preview mode, and whatever I type block appears in ALL of them. Perhaps this is because it is in preview mode. If I could save in draft mode, although this doesn’t appear as an option. <sigh>
Back to the beginning.
1) Select New Post
2) Change from Single Post to Swap Template from the right menu bar
3) Choose the Template I want
4) Return to the Post to see no change, no template, no ability to save as Draft, or Publish
Spinning my wheels… another 6 hours on this today, and still no working templates. :/ -
