WordPress notifications not loading

  Hi,

  I use WordPress both on my laptop in chrome and the app on my phone. Lately I’ve had issues loading WP notifications both in chrome and in the app.

  In Chrome, it takes several minutes to load notifications but eventually it does load. In the app, the waiting spinner runs and times out without any updates after a few minutes.

  I’ve looked through WP forums and I’ve tried all the relevant troubleshooting steps related to chrome. I’ve cleared the cache, checked chrome was up to date, signed out and signed back in etc. I’ve even unfollowed several websites to see if that would make a difference, but it didn’t. I’ve also checked WP notifications and there was no useful information there.

  In the app, I’ve tried signing out and back in. I’ve also deleted and reinstalled the app with no success. Given that chrome does eventually load the notifications, I’m inclined to believe this is a WP specific issue, not browser related.

  I found a previous thread (https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/delete-old-notifications/) that mentioned deleting notification history and I was wondering if someone could help me do that?

  Hi there,

  There’s an open issue that our developers are working on. Please let me know both the version of your browser and your operating system’s so I can create a report.

  I also want you to log out from your WordPress.com account, clear your cache and cookies, and then log back in. This is a known workaround reported by others facing the same issue.
