WordPress on iPad Pro
-
Edit posts. On an iPad Pro.
The ‘new improved version’ is meant for mobiles? Maybe not, but it would help if it was clear which improvements are meant for iPads etc, as I’m sure I’m not the only person in this situation. I’m really disappointed in WP that so many basic things like getting the cursor to work – I mean really basic! – just don’t. In case this isn’t happening for everyone, what happens for me us that I cannot get the cursor to shift where I want it in the text. It seems to be properly placed, ie the blue line is in the correct position, but my typing goes somewhere else, if that makes any sense. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you disabled the mobile theme? When we use responsive themes like yours, we need to do that.
A responsive layout theme like these ones listed here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/ automatically adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme, if you haven’t already done that.

Thanks- I am using twenty sixteen which is listed as a responsive theme. No I haven’t disabled anything, and can’t find the option on the menu. I might have to go back to an actual computer to do this I think, as the iPad menu options seem to be limited.
