  I have been trying to transition to wordpress.org. I have my email and username but whenever I try to log on it says pending approval. This has been going on for a week now. What do I do?

  Hi there,

  Are you speaking of logging into WordPress.org itself?

  We don’t have any control over the WordPress.org website, so if your account is pending approval on that end, I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do from ours.

  However, the only reason to have a WordPress.org account is to post in their forums, or otherwise contribute to the community over there that makes the open source WordPress software.

  If instead you just want to build a website using that software you don’t need an account on WordPress.org at all. But you will need to buy a hosting plan from a hosting provider like Pressable or Bluehost, so you can install the WordPress software on their servers.

  That said, you can use exactly that same software here on WordPress.com on our Pro plan, which I see you used to own.

  Can you perhaps tell me a bit more about what you’re trying to do, and what you feel is missing from our setup that prevents you from doing that?
