Now the time has come to self-host.
How do we get this Hemingway-rewritten supported by wordpress.org???
My beloved site is broken over on my new host, because there’s only Hemingway supported!

You should be able to download the WordPress.org version of that theme here. That download link can be found at the very bottom of the Hemingway-rewritten Theme Page here:

yes actually i later found that link and downloaded the theme and installed in in wp central and have activated it at the new host and the site is still broken. Thank you anyway. Any hints as to how to get it working would be greatly appreciated!

This despite having exported all content and media files, and having installed the theme and then imported the xml and all files attachments.
Something’s definitely gone wrong. None of the lovingly configured header images or text have survived. or the menu structure.
It’s as if all the configured parameters for the customisation of the theme have been lost/ignored. -

Design elements don’t transfer with the WordPress export file, so you will need to re-do the theme’s settings in the Customizer, including the menus.
