WordPress post category 'subscription' tool / plugin

  I am trying to add a tool or plugin where I can subscribe e-mail addresses to specific post categories.

  I.E. a new post in ‘x’ category and e-mail address ‘y’ will get an e-mail notifying them of a new post. I have not been able to find anything.

  Note.. The website is an internal site and is password protected, meaning users need to be logged in to see the website and connected to an internal server.

  Any thoughts as to if this is achievable?
