WordPress post on facebook page

  • Unknown's avatar

I have tried every instruction given on your help section to activate posting my WP posts onto my FB page. I can get FB connected, but nothing gets posted.

When I begin linking my FB account I see a small padlock icon saying ‘this app can not post on facebook’. But still upon clicking OK, it takes me through entire linking process…..just to see that none of my posts appear on my FB page.

    Can you please help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Try following these instructions to disconnect and then reconnect to your Facebook Page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services

If that didn’t solve the problem for you, please return to this thread and add the MODLOOK tag to the thread’s Tags section to receive Staff help.

    Thanks justjennifer.

I tried that too. But it still doesn’t work. I have included MODLOOK in the tag to receive support from WP staff.

I still get the message “This does not let the app post to facebook” in the opening screen of linking my FB account.

  • Hi there,

Can you make sure WordPress.com has the permission to post to your Facebook profile as shown here?

    http://d.pr/i/Ex4K

While on Facebook, click on your apps link, click on the WordPress app, and make sure that there is a check next to This app can Post. Everything seems connected correctly on our end.

    Many times @JenT’s suggestion works:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services

I would take a look and try these two things once more and let me know if you are still having any issues.

    Thanks!

    Hi Darnell,

Yes. the checkboxes as shown in your screenshot are all ticked. I have tried JenT’s suggestion of decativating & reactivating. But my current post is still not getting posted onto FB.

Is there any essential step I am missing? Do I need to actually press “FB share” icon at the bottom of my blog to make it posted to my FB? Or does that happen automatically, as soon as I have posted a blog?

I can’t see any area on this message where I can send you the screenshots. Otherwise I can share the shots of my settings too.

Is there a way of getting a phone or remote-connection support?

    thanks,
    Sidtan

Your WordPress post should automatically post on Facebook when everything is working correctly.

I can’t see any area on this message where I can send you the screenshots. Otherwise I can share the shots of my settings too.

You can upload your screenshot to your media library and I can access it there or you can use sharing tools such as Droplr or our very own Cloudup to share.

We do not provide phone support. All support is done through online communication.

Have you changed your Facebook passwords recently? If you change your password you would have to reconnect the connections.

However, I do see that you have deleted and reconnected your Facebook connection several times. Have you also been deleting the WordPress app in your FB account each time as well (step 3)?

Feel free to share the screenshot so I can take a look and let me know if you are not having any success after following the above suggestions.

    Thanks!

    Thanks darnell.

I have deleted the WP app in FB & then reconnected it…but it hasn’t worked.

One point – Is it that, the automatic FB posting happens for only new posts? I did these settings, after I published my current post.

    Can you please clarify?

    thanks,
    Sidtan

  • Hi there Sidtan,

One point – Is it that, the automatic FB posting happens for only new posts? I did these settings, after I published my current post.

Yes. Once connected to Facebook, any WordPress post that you publish moving forward will appear on you Facebook feed. Already published posts will not appear.

So, next time you try to publish a post, check and see if it appears in your feed. If all Everything appears to be set up correctly.

Let me know if you have any issues once you publish a post.

    Thanks!
