  Hi I am using wordpress (the free version) but I would like to buy premium with a new domain address. Is this possible? I’m worried that if I buy a new domain that my free site will still be separate from the paid one. Whereas I want my free site to transfer over to the new domain. Is this how it works?

  You don’t need to build a new site. You just click on “upgrades” in the left hand menu of your free site and purchase a Pro plan. At the same time you set up a custom domain address to be used instead of the free address. (Note the Premium plan and others are no longer available for new customers).

  Thanks, but when does it give you the option to set up a custom domain. All I can see is a button that says pay £180.

  Of course you need to pay first before you can register a custom domain that will become the primary domain replacing your free address.
