WordPress Question & Migration?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying to figure out if I should choose WordPress over Blogger.com and does WordPress have a migration service to do so? I want a plan where I can get live chat and technical support when needed. And I have a not secure- on my sites url if I go with WordPress will that get rid off it? And I have a fashion magazine site that I’ve been using blogger as the platform. What makes WordPress great for a fashion magazine site? And do I need to purchase another template if I decide to migrate to WordPress? My domain name is with domain.com so does that have no bearing on switching possibly from Blogger.com to WordPress?

I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

  • Hi there,

does WordPress have a migration service to do so?

Yes, you can import content from other services like Blogger, Wix, Medium, Tumblr, and many others. You can find more information here:

I want a plan where I can get live chat and technical support when needed.

To have 24-hour live chat support you’ll need to purchase an annual subscription to the Premium, Business, or eCommerce plans.

And I have a not secure- on my sites url if I go with WordPress will that get rid off it?

All the websites hosted on our platform use strong encryption and are very secure. You can read more here:

The WordPress.com platform is very flexible and you can fully customize your site to fit your needs. We have many themes with ready-made templates that are included for free. You can browse theme here:

My domain name is with domain.com so does that have no bearing on switching possibly from Blogger.com to WordPress?

You can use that domain with your WordPress.com site. You have two options. You can keep it with domain.com and point it here (connect) or you can completely transfer it here. You can find more information here:
