WordPress Reader Troubleshooting

WordPress Reader does not display my gravatar, nor my pictures from my posts appropriately, nor does it display the Reblog/Comment/Like buttons beneath each post in the Reader. (The Reblog button is also missing from my posts on my actual site.) I have checked (what I feel to be) every option in Settings to ensure that these should appear, but they don’t. Please help! (Note: I am not HTML-savvy, but can make my way around if absolutely necessary.)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Others have told me they have occasional issues with Reader, too. Starting late last week, some of my posts stopped appearing in the Reader feed.

There doesn’t seem to be a pattern.

Thank you, hemmingplay. I appreciate the feedback! Good to know I’m not the only one experiencing this random error.

What’s odd is that my posts appear, but my followers are unable to “Like” or “Comment” or “Reblog” because the buttons aren’t appearing under the blog post! However, sometimes the image isn’t even there, but the title is. And my gravatar is an RSS feed symbol, rather than the one I’m using everywhere else on my site.

Are you experiencing the same kind of issues, hemmingplay?

So far, the only problem I’ve had is that the posts don’t show up in the Reader. I asked a fellow-blogger in New Zealand about it, as we happened to be chatting, and she said it had been kind of random and buggy for her, too.

BTW, started following your blog. I’ve never seen posts done like that before. Very clever. :-)

Oh frap! I just discovered this duplicate thread. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/my-posts-are-not-showing-up-in-the-reader-1?replies=5

Know that the WordPress.COM Reader will automatically display posts published in WordPress.COM blogs because they constitute the WordPress.COM blogging community. Your site is not hosted by WordPress.com. It is not a part of the WordPress.COM blogging community. It is a free standing WordPress.ORG install.

Good to know, @hemmingplay, thanks again! And I appreciate the ‘follow’ and the compliment! :)

@thistimethisspace, thank you for the feedback! I spent hours scouring the forums for anything resembling a solution for my issue! So, in order to remedy all of my problems listed above, you’re saying I need to switch my host over to WordPress.com, is that correct?

I am the same person logged in under my other username and I have answered questions here for 8 years now as a Volunteer.

I am saying that WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate. Please read this carefully > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ so you are clear on the limitations and restrictions of being hosted by WordPress.COM. As your blog is not hosted by WordPress.COM the posts will NOT automatically appear in the WordPress.COM Reader.

@timethief: Thank you! I’ve read that link before, but I’ll dig a little deeper this go-round. Maybe I’ll find what I’ve been missing. If I don’t, I’ll be replying shortly. Thanks again.
