WordPress Removes All Formatting

Today every post I make using the visual editor or HTML editor results in all formatting being removed when the post is published. All tags are gone, all colors are reverted to black. This was working fine yesterday. As a test, if I copy the HTML from a previous post and save it as a new draft post then all the formatting is removed.
What can I do to get my formatting to persist?

I think I’m having a similar issue – and found a few previous threads about this, but they’re closed now – I try to italicize a word, but when I save the draft, the italics disappear. Over and over again, both in visual and html editors. BTW, I’m using Firefox.

Yes, I have the same problem. Glad I’m not the only one, I thought I jacked something up. Please send us all an update once it’s fixed, there’s some old posts I have that aren’t formatted correctly.
Weird things are happening too. My fonts on my template will become italicized then it won’t, weird.

I’m also having a problem. Worked fine around 1530 EST today (Thursday) but tonight is completely screwing up my updates to the page on my site everyone checks the most! The biggest problem is I can’t even revert to a previous save either. Very frustrating!

Yeah I read that, wish WP staff would have notified users of this on our home pages or at least locked updated until this is fixed, especially since I can’t revert back to a previous save.

You can revert, just don’t do it right now or that previous revision will get b0rked as well. Just sit tight till staff says it is fixed.
Since they roll out possibly 5 to 20 bits of code fixes and improvements each day typically, this is an odd occurrence based on my nearly 4 years here. It does happen once in a while, but it is very rare.

Besides possibly this forum – where would we go to read or otherwise find out when “the staff says its fixed”? Serious question…

They will make an announcement here in the forum, and typically they will not only respond to all threads on the issue, but also put a sticky post at the top of the main forum page.

Give it a try now. It looks like it is working again. I just did a complex code test in my test blog and everything stayed right where it was supposed to be.
