WordPress returns French accented characters after Z

    I’ve got a wordpress setup where I spit out a list of company names in french. Many company names start with accented letters, such as É (capital E-accute). They come after Z. I’ve tried changing my collation to “utf8_unicode_ci” not only in wordpress’s config but in the actual databases (by munging the SQL file).

    No matter what I try, I can’t see to get the basic order of E,e,É,é,È,è, etc.

    Can anyone offer some tips? What do I need to do to sort correctly?

    Hi there, it sounds like you have a self-hosted WordPress install (since you mention accessing your datatbase), not a WordPress.com site. These forums are for WordPress.com only. I suggest trying the relevant WordPress.org forums:
