wordpress search engine

None of my posts on my new blog (3 weeks old with 5 posts) seem to be showing up in the WordPress search engine. I have made sure my blog is public and have made sure each post is also public. I am positive my content is not “mature.” How do these search engines work? How do you make sure your posts show up in the search engines when people search for relative content? I have searched for all kinds of relevant content and only one of my posts has ever showed up in the search engine.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you verified your blog ownership with the major search engines?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/It tales some time for search engines to index your blog content. This post contains 10 factors that may expedite indexing. http://www.onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/

It can take a few days before new blogs are included in the search index. Brand new blogs might not have enough posts for us to accurately determine whether or not it’s spam.
Also, keep in mind that the search engine only indexes the body text of blog posts, pages, and comments. The blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed. -
Thanks, timethief! I’m a total newbie to blogging and your suggestions really helped. It was a lot of new information–I’m feeling overwhelmed–but this is good. I’ll start with the small things I can do now, and slowly add your other suggestions as I become more familiar with the language and blogging/websites in general.
Thanks! -
