WordPress searchable directory building

Hey, I am trying to make a searchable directory for regulations as a part of a project for my company Regeneron. I was wondering if that was something that could be done through wordpress and if you knew the best plugins/applications/package to do that. The capabilities it has to have are pretty simple it just has to be able to look through paragraphs for a keyword and bring up the paragraph and the associated location data of where it was in which book. Let me know if you have any ideas, thank you.

There are many directory plugins for WordPress, so what you want to do should be possible. But the better place to ask for advice on this is from the WordPress.org community, who makes WordPress and the various plugins for that software. So can you ask in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ instead?
The forum you’re posting to now mostly provides support for free sites on WordPress.com, and free sites don’t have the ability to use plugins, so we simply lack the expertise on what’s available to make any specific recommendations here :)
