WordPress: Send to Substack plugin not working
-
So I just followed the instructions to install the WP to Substack plug in and companion chrome extension described at https://specialprojects.automattic.com/2025/08/27/posting-from-wordpress-to-substack/ but when I click the Send to Substack button nothing happens
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I just tried with mine. I installed the plugin by uploading it to wordpress, and then I installed the chrome extention while in developer mode.
Have you made sure that you have your substack link correct? There’s two
substack.com/@userhandle
and
https://userhandle.substack.com
it’s the latter one you want. -
That is interesting. Mine was set at the first example. I have changed it.
Just tested and that was the problem!!!!
Now working.
But one thing i have run into is almost every time I close and reopen chrome it forgets that the chrome extension has been installed and I have to reinstall it. I have had to reinstall it like 5 times now.
Thanks SOOOO much!!

although it is called a chrome extention, it doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work on firefox or safari (if you want to try that)
-
I would love to install it in Firefox as that is my default, but when I try to import the .zip it says its corrupted

Ah I see, when I’m not at work, I’ll look at the code in more depth and see if I can add a line to make it support firefox (no promises)

Wooohoooo!
So I have done the 2nd export to substack now and noticing 1 odd behavior.
So it opens the new tab, and I can see it paste in the title, then subtitle, then the rest of the post.
When it completes the cursor is at the bottom on the post.
When I scroll up to the top the title and subtitle that were properly inserted are now gone and have to be manually entered.

I haven’t been able to convert it, but fixed the title issue -

hmmm, how odd. I haven’t changed that file from the original, so if you take the one from the original and copy it into the new one, that should work.

I see. the new zip has a mac folder in it

So within the new folder named wp-substack-extension 3 if I go into the subfolder named then it installs
