Is it possible for me to have WP.COM as my host, but have WP.ORG as my server? If yes, how does that work?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, that’s not possible. Please see here so you are clear on the differences: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org

Hi. The answer is no. You sound confused regarding the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Maybe you should read this before you continue?

I must have misunderstood what I read on the WP.ORG site because they state:
“If you have no idea what to do with this download, we recommend signing up with one of our web hosting partners that offers a one click install of WordPress or getting a free account on WordPress.com.”
Why do they recommend people to get a WP.COM site if it has nothing to do with their installation?
-
They probably recommend WordPress.com to people who have no experience as an alternative to enjoy the basic functionalities of WordPress without having to download and install WordPress.
As you probably know now, WordPress.com is NOT WordPress.org and does not work exactly the same way.
If you would like to voice your concern about the wording of that particular page, why not contact them directly to let them know?

airodyssey,
Calm down, I was just asking a question. I am fully aware that I can contact wp.org, but I chose not to do so.
So far, I am very pleased with wp.com. However, it would be nice if they would loosen up on the VIP requirements and fees.
Thank you and timethief for your super quick responses.

They recommend people use WP.com INSTEAD of installing WP.org software in their own webspace. It’s an alternative that they suggest, not an add-on.
