  Im confused. I have a wordpress blog, but I now know that I need a wordpress site to have plugins even though i pay £85 a year :/ Im very confused about how to do this lol. Ive just got wordpress hosting from godaddy is that what i need? Its asking me things when it says about migrating it I feel like Ive just wasted my money paying for my wordpress blog

  Hi there,

  You are correct about plugins. To install your own plugins you’ll need a self-hosted site running the free software from WordPress.org. These are different from the sites here at WordPress.com :

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  It sounds like you’ve purchased GoDaddy’s WordPress-optimized hosting, where they provide a one-click WordPress installation for you. If you need help transferring your WordPress.com site into GoDaddy’s environment, we have instructions for that here:

  Is there a particular plugin you were needing for your site? On WordPress.com we already have a lot of functions ready to go from the most popular plugins, so we can usually find a workaround to do something similar to any plugin you were hoping to install.
