WordPress site author passed away, his friends need access?

  A friend of mine passed away last October – John Philpott – who maintained the website https://friendsofchess.wordpress.com/. The rest of the Friends of Chess now have no access to the website but would like to edit it and bring it up to date. Can you help? The gentleman making the enquiry is Mike Gunn – (email visible only to moderators and staff). Please help if you can, John would have liked it to be continued, and they do good work.
