WordPress Site Editor and Post Editor Freezing in Firefox
-
Hi guys,
I have an odd issue with my blog absoludicrousblog.wordpress.com. Every time I try to create a new post or update the site’s theme, the website absolutely freezes to a standstill and in most cases becomes unusable. Another blog I have does not have this same issue – I can open both no problem.
However, when I switch to a different browser, everything suddenly works fine. For reference, I usually use Firefox, and I’ve tried both Edge and Chrome and found that it suddenly works fine on both.
Any ideas on what might be causing my one blog to stop working on only Firefox? It’s my preferred browser and I think it would be super annoying to have to use Chrome for just this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Usually when an issue like this occurs, it can be traced to an expired (or broken) login auth cookie stored on your local web browser. It looks like you are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser, so with this in mind I would like you to try the following
- Clear your cache and cookies based on the steps Firefox recommends here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
- Also make sure you are not blocking any “3rd party cookies” as explained in this guide as well: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-say-cookies-are-blocked-unblock-them#w_check-sites-that-are-blocked-from-setting-cookies
- If those do not work, what if you log into WordPress.com in a private browser window (File > New Private Window) instead of a standard browser window. Does the editor load correctly in a private window?
Thanks for the additional info!
