WordPress site in zip file
-
Hello!
I have a WordPress website that was downloaded in a zip file. Is is possible to put that site back up on WordPress? I need to see how the site looked before and to re-create something similar. Thank you!! -
Here is a support document that will explain how to do that.

However, do be aware that if your former site used a theme that isn’t available on WordPress.com or plugins (those are only an option on WordPress.com Business or eCommerce plans), the site may not look exactly as you previously had it.
Please take a look and let us know if you have trouble or other questions.

Hi,
Thank you so much!
I’ve just tried that, unfortunately I get 413 status code.
Do you know what does that mean? Is my file invalid?
Thank you

That should definitely work.
Would you please use https://snipboard.io/ to share a screenshot of the error when it’s encountered?

It’s taking quite a while to get it uploaded so I can share exactly what the error says:
413 Status for POST/sites/185506316/imports/menu

Hi there,
What is the size of the .zip folder you’re trying to upload? We have a 15MB maximum file size for imports on WordPress.com, so if your folder is bigger than that, the importer won’t accept it.
In that case, un-zip the folder, and try importing the individual .xml files inside it instead (provided those files also aren’t bigger than 15MB).
