WordPress Slideshow

  Hello
  I’ve followed the instruction tutorial on how to create a slideshow within WordPress, and this has worked well.

  However I’d like the slideshow to display in a txt Widget for display all the time, not just on a specific page.

  When I put the [slideshow] command into the widget, it will run when I am on the page the slideshow is posted on perfectly, however if you navigate away from that specific page, the slideshow is no longer viable.

  Is there a specific html code I can use to inform the widget where the slideshow is hosted in order that it may be viewable in the sidebar regardless of which page you are on?

  Thanks for your quick reply. I’m a bit lost here though.

  In the link you provide TT says that it is not currently possible to embed the slideshow into the sidebar, yet I can clearly see the slideshow working in the sidebar widget when I am on the page the slideshow is embeded on.

  If it works there, surely it wouldn’t be that much of a stretch to have it working all the time or am I just being too ambitious?

  As for external sideshows, I’ve given this a shot, but the players will not fit into the sidebar dimensions, and trying to reduce its size distorts the image player unfortunately. :(

  Precisely: the [slideshow] code only grabs whatever images appear on post you are currently viewing. You cannot customize that code to tell it to grab the images on another post or on your media library.

  Thanks airodyssey. Just had to make sure I wasn’t missing something as it seemed to be working on the source page and nowhere else.
