WordPress Smilies – White backround
-
Hi!
I am using the zBench theme, with a lot of modifications.
I noticed that the smileys have a white square as a background, which doesn’t look too nice, so I examined <b>style.css </b> and noticed that in the section of the script regarding the posts, there was the following line
.entry img{background: #fff;border:1px solid #ddd;padding:5px;}
I removed it and it seems that the square disappeared, without influencing the other images of the post.
I hope this is going to help some of you, having the same problem. :)Visit my blog here: http://www.teoriataranului.info/

When I previewed this the smiley images had transparent backgrounds so it really shouldn’t make too much difference. Signature links are frowned upon in the forum though.

Maybe you previewed the original theme, which has a white background, so its impossible to see the square behind the smileys.

http://www.teoriataranului.info/ is not a WordPress.COM hosted blog.

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.COM, this site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

Doesnt matter, people who have this problem will still use the article helpfull. But thanx for the heads up

well the one for .COM cant be customized too much, and probably the user won’t care about modding.

The point is that you posted in the wrong forum (like many others, you didn’t read the sticky that says “8 Things to Know Before Posting”), and what you posted is irrelevant to wp.com users: zBench for wp.com has no square around smilies, its CSS doesn’t contain the line you pasted, and even if it did we wouldn’t remove it, we would add the changes we wanted to make.

There are two different versions of the theme. They are coded differently because wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG run on different software. In order to get correct answersto questions pertaining to the software you are running which is a wordpress.ORG install and the theme you are using which is the wordpress.ORG version you must post to the correct support forum please. it’s here > http://wordpress.ORG/support/
And if we Volunteers sound “testy” that’s because rather than reading the READ Me first sticky post people just post and waste our time because we have to type out all this stuff which is already stated in the sticky post. Some days 30% of those who post here failed to read the sticky post and post to the wrong forum and then a minority have the audacity to argue with us.
