  Hello, I just started a new blog from wordpress.com and have a question. I am willing to upgrade to CSS but please understand that I have not downloaded the WordPress interface from wordpress.org. It is simply a wordpress.com blog.

  I want to let people sponsor my blog through putting ads on the side. Like the ones on the right of poppytalk.blogspot.com and the ones on the left of printpattern.blogspot.com/.

  Can anyone help me out and let me know if I’m allowed to do this with wordpress, and if so, how?

  First, know that the CSS upgrade does not involve downloading or uploading anything. That’s for self-hosted blogs using the free software provided by wordpress.ORG. This forum sticky clarifies:

  Also know that CSS is not officially supported here. And the most important thing to know is that the upgrade does not exempt you from the standard restrictions outlined in the ToS and detailed here:
