When I install the plugin then try to set the API key, I get this error:

Get with your host and 1) make sure that php can use fopen commands on outbound port 80 and 2) your local box has access to a local DNS server.

I’ll have to look at this on Monday as I’m on a locked down terminal and can’t open up files for editing here. (And if I try, it’ll crash the browser) I’m also having a related issue with my wpmu install and I’ll take a look when I try to fix my issue.
If you’re comfortable with PHP, can you add in a echo command and see if teh URL is correct for your blog when it makes the check?

The problem seemed to be that it didn’t like when I accessed it using the IP/~username. Not sure why. Anyways, I was just hoping to try it out before changing my domain over. Works fine now.

Your API Key can be found in your Dashboard under Users/Your Profile, but please note we cannot use plug-ins here on WP.com
