WordPress stats – how to not ignore my own page visits?

WordPress stats states that it doesn’t count my own visits to my blog in the statistics. How is this defined?

If I use someone else’s computer to log into my dashboard, will no visits from that computer ever again be included in my stats? Or, is it sufficient to close the window with my dashboard, or would it help if I actually logged out from that machine (or sufficient to log in on another computer)?

Since the computer that I logged into my dashboard on today is one that other people generally use I would actually be keen to ensure that any visits to my blog from that computer ARE included in my statistics (in fact, I know that a certain visit to my blog today, which I observed, hasn’t actually shown up in my stats – since my stats do not show any hits to that particular old post today).

    Thanks,

    Matt

Your own visits are your visits while logged in. Any visit from any computer while logged in to wordpress.com is not counted. Any visit from any computer while not logged in to wordpress.com is counted.

    Just to be clear:

“Any visit from any computer while not logged in to wordpress.com
[on that computer] is counted.” – right?

Perhaps this is really obvious, but thought I’d just check! ;-)

    thanks

Just to confirm the answers above: your own visits are not counted when you’re logged in. This has no effect on other visits from the same computer or IP address.
