WordPress Stats Plug In – updated to 3.0.1 – nowhere to input API key
-
Hi guys,
Have no idea why this happened since it was working fine before… I backed up my WordPress database and updated to version 3.0.1 – I updated my plug-ins and WordPress stats isn’t working, and tells me it needs attention that I need to insert my API key. I have done this prior since it was working with my previous version of WordPress
When I go to settings, there is no option for me input my API key, when going to the Global Dashboard there is nothing there for me to insert it either. My email address is added, so I am the user who can edit the stats options, but I don’t know what to do! Any help would be much appreciated. My API key is valid and working fine, this has only been a problem since upgrading my WordPress, perhaps I should go back to my previous version?

I’m afraid we won’t be able to help in this forum; there may be some advice for you in the WordPress.org forums. Otherwise, you can always contact staff on Monday when they return.

Thanks raincoaster… but I’m confused. I host my blog through a plug in on my server – should I not seek support from .com ? The Global Dashboard takes me here.

On this forum we provide support only to those who have free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM and we Volunteers are requested to redirect all those who gave blogs hosted by any other web host to this forum > http://wordpress.ORG/support.If you go to the footer of your theme you will find this link “Powered by WordPress” and when you click it, it brings you to http://wordpress.ORG/
All wordpress.ORG bloggers who are using either Akismet or wordpress stats require wordpress.COM accounts for their API keys. The support documentation for them is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/api-keys/
Beyond providing that link there’s nothing we Volunteers on this wordpress.COM support forum can help you with as yours is not a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG run on different software.

Support for API keys and the blog stats plugin is handled here at wordpress.COM, but since it is set up automatically for those hosted here at wordpress.COM, we don’t have any experience with it.
Contact staff here on the 16th and they can help you out with it.
