WordPress Stats show way to high statistics

    In the last two days wordpress stats shows access statistics which are two or three times higher than ususal. Beside that I get thousands of search engine hits by google.co.th which can’t be true. My blog is in german, and usually I get only a few hits from asia per day.

    In the last couple of hours other forum user reported that the their stats showed to low numbers. Barry answered here that this happened because of a new data center in the UK. Is my problem related to that? Will the stats get restored to the real numbers?

    Hi Christoph,

    While the overall number of views is a bit higher than average, I don’t think it’s related to the problem you mentioned. That issue would have caused a loss of stats, not a rise. This also involves a different date period. It looks like this was just a temporary increase in search engine traffic. However, if you notice a significant swing again within the next several days, please let us know.
