I received this email I was not aware that I had ever subscribed to any service… has anything changed? Has anyone else experienced this?
“We couldn’t charge the payment method for your subscription.
We were unable to automatically renew your subscription because of a problem with your current payment method. You’re required to update your payment method with a valid credit card. If you do not complete this step, your subscription will be placed on hold and your website will not be accessible via the Internet.”

Hi there, since your above site is hosted on Ionos and not here at WordPress.com, is it possible this is for a subscription for the Jetpack plugin?
You can check that charge at our secure site https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ and if it can’t find it, you’ll be given the option to contact the billing team.
