WordPress Support
-
My WordPress blog has vanished—with all my posts, data, images, text, and videos. I cannot find a phone number for WordPress support. How do I (a) contact WordPress tech support by phone? (2) How do I restore my WP blog?
-
What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the site you refer to please?
I’m asking because we cannot accurately answer questions posted here until we have confirmed the URL referred to and verified the hosting. And, that is why we are all prompted to provide the relevant URL when we create a new thread.

The empty site hosted by wordpress.COM linked to your username is https://cdequincey.wordpress.com/ and it dates back to 2010.
I also located another ole blog hosted by wordpress.COM here https://thewisdomblog.wordpress.com/ that dates back to 2009.

Hi and thanks for your prompt reply. The full url is:
http://www.christiandequincey.com/iQNoeticNews/
But it shows up blank (or with a “404” notice). I have spend years building this site—with articles, photos, videos, audio recordings Q&A forum and have hundreds of subscribers.
How do i contact WP to find out what happened?
Many thanks,
Christian de Q.

PS: The two url you found link to much older (and unused) versions of this blog. The URL i just sent is the current one:

Our WordPress.COM Staff do not provide support for that site. That’s a wordpress.ORG software install, not a wordpress.COM hosted site.
christiandequincey.com is hosted by BlueHost
Hosting provider: BlueHost
WHOIS: Click Here
IP Address: 69.89.31.85
Name Servers:
ns1.bluehost.com
ns2.bluehost.comWe provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites and that one is not among them. Our support docs do not apply to (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

Ok, thanks for your detailed response. My mistake—confusing WP.org and WP.com (but having two options like this is bound to cause confusion!).
I contacted Bluehost and they solved the problem in minutes—a faulty plugin. By deactivating the plugin (“Cool Author” fyi), the site came back up with all my content. Relief!
Thanks again for your prompt response.
