WordPress support – please set my editor to the Classic Editor (on free plan)
-
Hi WordPress Support,
For my lightingsensematters.wordpress.com site, on a free plan, for various technical reasons I want to use the Classic Editor please. As far as I’ve seen in the forums this has to be done from your side. Unfortunately the ability to use the Classic Editor has been removed from Free Plans. I believe that it was a mistake to remove this ability for free users. I don’t want to use the new Block Editor.
Please would you revert my free plan website to use the Classic Editor as soon as you can.
Many thanks
Glen

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
We also have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
If you have any feedback on the new editor, we’re always looking for ways to improve it, so please let us know!
