I am registered with (email visible only to moderators and staff) email and my website is a wordpress website which is postumcafe.com. I want to set up another website but don’t know which template would work best. What I want is a home page that is one big picture and has either a drop-down menu or a menu bar across the top or bottom of the page. As the user selects a menu item it will take them to another page which either be one big picture or multiple pictures with links that will take the user to yet a third page. For example, the first page introduces me as a therapist. One of the menu items says
‘Shane’s Library’ the user clicks that link and it takes them to a page that has listed items such as Religion, Politics, Mental Health, Business, etc. When the user clicks on one of those links, it takes them to another page that lists all the books of that topic that are in my library. So the question is which template would be best for me to use? -

There are different options depending on what you use.
If you’ll be using your current provider, I’d recommend exploring the options at https://wordpress.org/

I will use my current provider but he uses wordpress. I guess I do not understand how that all works.

The problem is that there are too many options to choose from. That is why I am asking the question. I know what I want to do but I could spend hours and days searching and trying each one to figure out if it will do what I want.
What I want is incredibly simple.

You can use our service, which provides hosting and management, as well as support with paid plans. If you use our service, you would need a business plan to add plugins.
Or, you can buy hosting elsewhere (which you already have), and set up your own free WordPress installation there. Just note many hosts do not offer WordPress management and support, or they charge extra for it. This is a good option if you want to handle the technical end of things yourself.
