WordPress Terms of Service while using my own domain.

I want to use my own domain but still use WordPress’ tools to create the website..

Does this Terms of Service still apply? ‘By submitting Content to Automattic for inclusion on your Website, you grant Automattic a world-wide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish the Content solely for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting your blog. This license allows Automattic to make publicly-posted content available to third parties selected by Automattic (through the Automattic Firehose, for example) so that these third parties can analyze and distribute (but not publicly display) your content through their services.’

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Getting a custom domain changes nothing whatsoever except your URL.

    Thanks for the reply raincoaster.

So, websites like the Metro, their content is owned by Automattic??

You own your content, not WordPress.COM – the Terms of Service are a bit confusing – but you need to grant WordPress.COM a license to display your content or I could not visit your site and see your content.

You can delete your content from WordPress.COM and they will remove it from their servers & backups – due to caching issues it might take up to three days for the server caches to be cleared of your content – WordPress.COM retains no rights to your content once you leave
