I am about to start building a webpage for my online booking. I am stuck to even get started with simple page. I would like to use a template to include these menus: About Accommodation Things to do Booking. The idea is to have these menus right up the very top, centered with some pictures displayed at the bottom of these menus. I would also like to see my name displayed on the bottom page as copyright, etc?
Can someone in the forum help me please?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Can you clarify what the online booking is for – is it accommodation for a rental property, do you need an availability calendar, do you need to process online payments etc?

WordPress.com has a very limited range of functionality.

Depending on what your end goal is, a self-hosted site using software from WordPress.org might be more suited to your needs, as it allows you to install plugins which add functionality.

If you can outline the type of functionality you require, we might be able to provide you with some advice as to which is the better option.

    Hi garysixtyeight,
Thanks so much for your reply to my question. I am building a simple webpage for my business, an online booking businesss. It is about hotels booking. At this stage, I am not looking into using credit card or anything like that. This where my service comes in, as I act as a bridge between holiday goers and hotels.

Online payment system is something I will consider later down the track. At this stage, I just would like to get my page up and running. I will have all the information about the hotel rooms, things to do, how to get there, etc.

The issue I have been having with the wordpress is that, it wont do what I want, or the issue is I dont know how to customize. All I want is a simple, nice front page with pictures, an easy access to set the background color, with five tab menus. I would like to have my business names down the bottom of my page. Lastly, I need some sort of form or notification to my email if someone wants me to book something?

Once again, thanks heaps for your reply garysixtyeight.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi there! Gary’s already pointed you to some handy resources. I wanted to add a couple more.

Stay is a theme designed specifically for hotels, which comes with a reservation contact form built in. You can check out the demo here:

    https://staydemo.wordpress.com/

You could also create your own form using the built-in Contact Form tool that you can add to a page in any theme. More info here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/contact-form/

Another theme option would be to use a grid-based portfolio theme, like these free ones:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/portfolio/free

You would create each hotel room as a “portfolio project” and they would all show in a grid on the page.

I hope this gives you some more ideas! Just let us know if you need further help or other suggestions.
