Having trouble converting WordPress blog posts into Anchor podcasts
I’ve been trying for hours and hours over the past week to upload new blog posts
to Anchor from my wordpress blog site. The first time was a breeze and a charm, like magic there it was effortlessly really. However I had one blog that was on the podcast that I’d published on WordPress and overlooked some detail I should have edited out beforehand. So made the edits on the post in WordPress and tried to uploading, converting this to Anchor podcast. However no matter how many times I’ve tried this I can not make it work. I’ve sent half a dozen requests for help to Anchor over the past week and received a reply they’d be back in touch in 48-72 hrs… and that was over 200 hours ago, so thought I’d reach out to WordPress to see if anyone has had similar issues and could shine light onto what i’m doing wrong.. I’m pretty sure it’s operator error in my case, but how can such a powerful software company make any user interface so non-intuitive or non-stupid proof that someone like me can spend hours and achieve nothing? Any suggestions or ideas what may be the problem and ways to try correcting them? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, so to confirm, you wrote the post and converted it to audio, then edited it and you can’t convert?
Or, are you having trouble with converting new posts to audio on this site?

Question 1 is not quite yes.
I edited it in Word press and once done published again (the blog post that is). Then went to Anchor dashboard. And could click on episodes and see if it uploaded, of course not, so it looks like I have to do it manually so no problem, I clicked on episodes and could see the episodes I’d already done a few days earlier. But went ahead and checked the file on Anchor that I’d edited and saved in WordPress.,, just in case it would do automatically. It was still the older version of blog post so knew I had to manually get the podcast over and have it converted again using Anchor. Well this is where things get hard to understand much less explain but I’ll try. This is second writing about this on this ticket. I was trying to paste screenshots step by step below just in case it would let me but it took off this page to another page and lost all that I now retype. Anyways, if there’s a way to get screenshots of the sequential pages I click through let me know and I’ll get them over. I took them to help assist with troubleshooting but there’s no way to attach them to this message or ticket.
So I couldn’t find any way to get anchor to go back to wordpress page and get the edited post converted and visable in my episodes page. the only option seems to be music and audio recorder for transcribing in Anchor. There are no external links to the post I’m trying to convert into podcasts.
Thank you,

One more thing, I read on Anchor FAQ that user has to sign in with different email or make new account to get more episodes, so i think it’s a one shot deal and felt a bit concerned as I had more to convert into podcasts episodes and would have more coming. Thought to myself, I hope not this is a lot of guesswork to get it redo or repeat the flow or smooth conversion first round. So I tried logging in as new account and email, that didn’t do it but one episode and not the rest, so kept on trying just same looping flow with the buttons given on each page in Anchor. It didn’t help and not sure I was reading that right. It doesn’t seem like user should have to keep creating new accounts to upload new content to anchor for podcast conversions. I was desperate by this point as I had hours in trying with no result and maybe kamakaze and started trying anything and everything I could glean off of FAQ, Support and Word Press here. If you could advise where to send screen shots, I’m sure it would be a lot clearer.

Yes, to question # 2 also. Yes, meant to say yes to it. Like I said I lost a whole page of reply by accident when trying to paste screenshots below in html tags and attributes box. took me off this page and came back this block was emptied all I’d just typed. so it’s coming back to me in phases, sorry about that. But yes to your second question if audio you mean text to speech blog post to podcast and not adding audio to episode.
Thanks,

Hi Steve,
You can upload those screenshots in your site’s Media Library and we’ll be able to see them.

Sure I’ll try doing it now. Do I need to publish my blog site after I put in media library? Anyways I’ll go upload them there for now and try it
Thanks

I had a look at the screenshots you added and what you describe and, I’m afraid you’ll need to wait for an answer from Anchor’s support team, as we won’t be able to help with this here.
Have you checked your Spam/Junk folders? It’s odd that they have not replied to your support ticket. Maybe it got filtered in your inbox?
