WordPress To squarespace

I am trying to move my domain to squarespace but it will not allow me. Below is the explanation from their tech support.
Could you please advise?
Thank you!

The issue you’re seeing right now is because your domain is hosted by WordPress currently. Although your Nameservers (they are called NS in your screenshot) should remain as Handled by WordPress and WordPress seem to be your domain provider, none of your Arecords or Cnames should be handled by WordPress. These are conflicting with the domain mapping records we need to add to your domain to point them to Squarespace.
As some of your domain’s DNS records are appearing as Handled by WordPress, there might not be an option (and I can’t see one from your screenshot) to delete this. Instead I would recommend reaching out to WordPress and asking them to remove any Arecords and Cnames handled by WordPress. Once this is done you shouldn’t run into any issues completing the domain mapping process.

Hey there,
I am trying to move my domain to squarespace but it will not allow me.
From Squarespace’s description, it sounds like they are not expecting you to move your domain to their server. Rather, they are telling you to keep your domain (minuitenblanc.com) at WordPress.com, and “point” it to your website, hosted at Squarespace. Is this correct?
When I look at your CNAME records, they are pointing your domain to Squarespace already. When I visit http://www.minuitenblanc.com, I am taken to your Squarespace trial account, rather than your WordPress.com site.
With a bit more clarity, I can help. Can you tell me:
- If you want to transfer your domain from WordPress.com to Squarespace.
If so, here are transfer instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/ - If you want to keep your domain at WordPress.com and point it to your Squarespace site.
If this is the case, you can provide me with Squarespace’s name servers and I can help you point your domain to your Squarespace site. Here are instructions to map your domain to a non-WordPress.com site:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Hello Robyn!
Thank you for your fast and detailed response!
So, I noticed that when I go to “www.minuitenblanc.com” it goes to squarespace, but when I do “minuitenblanc.com” it goes back to WordPress. When I logged into squarespace, it’s now saying that the “third party domain connection is in progess” but the IP ‘s are not transfering from how they’ve mentionned in their steps– perhaps something is working? I sound very complicated, I am sorry! I wish I could show you a screenshot, but I think you’ve got it :) — you’re already awesome for sounding better than I do!
I would like to transfer it to squarespace entirely. Because if I am pointing it, would it means I will have two sites with one domain? I just want to make sure I make the right choice, as I don’t want to go back and forth.
I hope I was able to answer your question?
Looking forward to your response!

Hi again Caro!
Ok, given all the info you’ve provided me (thanks!) and your desire to “transfer it to squarespace entirely,” I would like to make one more quick suggestion before we roll up our sleeves and make any changes.
Can you confirm Squarespace accepts incoming domain transfers? They may not. I only found this older thread on their site about the issue:
http://answers.squarespace.com/questions/53586/transferring-existing-domain-to-squarespaceIf they don’t accept an incoming transfer, they’ve given you these instructions to map your WordPress.com domain to your Squarespace site.
http://help.squarespace.com/guides/mapping-a-domain-general-instructionsCan you let me know if you’ve gone through those settings and made the changes necessary?
Once you find out for sure, let me know! Thank you!

Hey!
After reading their suggestions, and yours, I would like to only map my domain. It doesn’t seem like you can transfer it anyways, therefore you are correct and that’s our only option!
( What if I already have a domain?[top]
If you own a domain name purchased through another provider (like GoDaddy or 1&1), you can use it for your Squarespace site by following a process called domain mapping. We don’t accept domain transfers at this time.)
Right now, based on their mapping steps, I’ve got some that are highlighed in red, from my DNS setting. Should I try again with WordPress to see if it will allow me to continue the process? Yesterday it kept saying “this record cannot be added , as it conflicts with an existing WordPress.com record”
(This table shows you the DNS entries needed to connect your domain. Incorrect or missing entries are highlighted in red. Log in to your domain provider to manage these settings. If you need help adding and removing DNS entries, follow our step-by-step guide that walks you through the process.)
Those highlighed in red are four “A” records.

No problem Caro! You can set a custom A record for your domain following the steps here:
The A records you need to add can be found here:

Hey Jeremy!
Thank you for the info. Pardon the delay. I will go ahead and try it and let you know if I come across any issues!

Hello guys!
I am back again… and unfortunately, it is still not working. Here is the error message I encounter from WordPress.
“This record cannot be added, as it conflicts with an existing WordPress.com record. “
Thank you for your assistance with this!
I am sorry!

Hi Caro,
I just added those four Squarespace A records to your domain minuitenblanc.com for you. Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
