WordPress told me to disconnect jetpack, I now can’t find my website
-
Hi I used to work for this company and manage their website, I occasionally do some freelance work for them where I update their website.
Today I went on to wordpress and nothing was working, nothing would update and wordpress would not show me the website content (pages/posts). WordPress kept pushing me to disconnect from jetpack and told me to follow these articles.
Jetpack
Jetpack
Which I did, but now I seem to have lost the website from wordpress. Please can you help me
FYI there may also be issues with the company who host the website, because I haven’t been able to get on it all day.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Also when I go to the WP Admin profile and try to register another blog, to see if I can retrieve the website I get this message – Domains ending with .co.uk are undergoing maintenance. Please try a different extension or check back in an hour.

Hi there!
Unfortunately, we cannot assist because your site is not hosted on WordPress.com. It’s a self-hosted WordPress.org site hosted by a different hosting company.
It seems you purchased the WordPress.com Creator plan and added a domain connection for idealland.co.uk. That’s why you were seeing the notifications regarding that domain on your WordPress.com dashboard. However, the site itself is not hosted by us, so we are unable to help with this.
To clarify:
- WordPress.com is a managed host platform that offers WordPress in a pre-customized server environment already set up for you to build your site. Hosting with WordPress.com is free, and the server, security, updates, and site optimization are all handled by us. We offer free and paid plans that provide additional features for your site based on your needs (plugins, custom themes, etc). You also have access to professional assistance via Happiness Engineers to address any issues you encounter.
- WordPress.org is a self-hosted platform, meaning you download the WordPress software and install it on a web server from a host of your choosing. You have to pay the host when you’re self-hosting, and the server, security, updates, and site optimization are all handled by you. This gives you more flexibility and control of your plugins, themes, and code but also more responsibility to ensure those things are operating correctly.
Our support page dives more into the differences:

I recommend contacting your site host, as they would be better positioned to assist you since they have access to your account. Also, the open-source forum community is always available and prepared to help users with self-hosted sites: https://wordpress.org/support/forums
If you’re interested in migrating your site to WordPress.com, we’ll be happy to guide you through the process. You can get started by following the steps here to migrate your entire site to WordPress.com:
Use the Move to WordPress.com plugin to migrate a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com. Follow the steps in this guide to import your site (including your content, media, plugins, and theme) directly from your wp-admin dashboard. Prerequisites To follow the steps in this guide, you will need: Your source site: a WordPress site with any other hosting provider (referred to as a seFirst, though, you’ll need to log into your existing website. If you’re having trouble with that, please contact your current hosting service provider or post on the WordPress.org support forum for directions.
Thanks!
