There’s two versions/flavors of WordPress.
There’s the open source project WordPress.org which can be installed on other hosting platforms like Bluehost, GoDaddy etc.Then there’s the managed or hosted version which we run here at WordPress.com.
You can create a free website at WordPress.com. The free website will have .wordpress.com in the domain name like you have homeproshoppercom.wordpress.com. You can continue running the free website forever. If you want a custom domain name like homeproshoppercom.com (if you already own it somewhere), then only there is a need to transfer the domain, otherwise, you don’t need to.It looks like you are working with the WordPress.org. Therefore, you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:

You do not have to transfer a domain to us to use our service. All sites created on WordPress.com are provided with a free address like you already have at http://homeproshoppercom.wordpress.com/, and you can use that free address for as long as you want.
However, if you want to use a custom domain with us, be it through registering one directly with us, connecting one you already own to your site, or transferring the domain to us completely, that is a paid service and requires one of our plans to do.
