WordPress 'unfollows' my favourite blogs / subscriptions lost

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve got a problem that happened today. I login to reader, and about 40 of my favourite blogs I subscribe to are not appearing.

    I havent unsubscribed!!!

Why did this happen?? And i only have this username account.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I actually have the same problem too. I went about searching for a particular blog in my Reader under “Manage” sites, but couldn’t find the blog. Hopefully this is a bug and will be resolved soon.

There’s another problem: for all blogs that I’m following, the setting is e-mail notification for new posts and new comments is set to “off”. I can change it, but that doesn’t keep. The next time I open the reader and “manage”, all the settings are back to “off”. What’s going on here?

I’m not getting that problem, wpvins. Could be a bug with the Reader. I’m seeing a lot of blogs coming up in my Reader, but not when under the “Manage” link in the sidebar of the reader. It is annoying when I want to look up blogs and can’t seem to find them that way.

Thanks for your answer. It looks like we have different problems, then. I was wondering: maybe I need to open another thread.

  • Hi @marilenaspotofart, we’ll get in touch via email so you can let us know which sites you were following that are now missing.

  • Hi @themabelkwong, we’ll get in touch with you too, since knowing the missing site would be helpful.

And @wpvins we would be happy to investigate that as well, but let’s do it in another thread in case others are having the same issue (and because it isn’t the same problem as the original post.) Cheers all!

@supernovia: Thanks for the help you offer. It is much appreciated. But I believe my “problem” has solved itself. As of yesterday, I can use the “of/on” buttons in my reader, to turn the e-mail notifications for new posts and/or new comments on and off.
But allow me to ask another question here, even if it’s off topic: Is there any change going on or planned with the classic reader? So far, I’ve been using it via a special link or via the dashboard, but in a different blog there’s talk about this no longer available. Your comment as to that matter would be very much appreciated. Or do I need to open another thread?

  • @wpvins there have been some changes in the reader; sounds like you’re enjoying them! The bigger differences right now are in how we encourage you to explore new sites — via discover.wordpress.com .

Anyhow, if you’d like to start a new thread, you can, or feel free to get in touch with us here:

    Cheers!

Thanks, supernovia, for the suggestion to contact you. I’ll do that. But I made a mistake: I need some information on the classic editor, not the reader. Sorry about that.
    Cheers,
    Pit
