WordPress Unlock Transferring Domain option

Here’s my issue. I’ve decided that I want to use wordpress.org instead of wordpress.com because of the greater control it allows. In doing so I need to transfer the domain to another host, however because it hasn’t been 60 days wordpress still has the transfer “locked”. I’ve emailed them about unlocking this so that I can go ahead and get it moved and have yet to hear back from them. It’s been close to 2 days and I can’t even start working on the site until the domain is transferred. I’m hoping by posting this it will get this done faster. The day it’s supposed to be unlocked is December 21…I don’t think it should be a problem for it to be unlocked early.

Is there anything else I can do? I’ve already sent one email, I don’t want to keep harassing them but I need this done by like yesterday. I wish they had phone support!

You may not transfer a domain name for 60 days after its purchase or for 60 days after you change any registrant contact information. This is a rule set by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and standard across all registrars. You can still transfer if you update nameservers or the admin email address.

This guide explains how to transfer the domain name to another registrar.
