WordPress Update 5.1.1

    Need urgent help. I received usual email from WP advising of an update. I wasn’t paying attention, clicked and went to my site. I downloaded a link for the above update and now my site will not work. Did I get hold of a virus. Or, is there something I didn’t do. This is for my business and we need to get it taken care of immeidately. We need some help from WordPress or anyone who knows how to take care of this problem. Thank you.

    Here on WordPress.com the users are not required to run updates.

    Keeping in mind that you mention the version of WordPress, an advice update etc… It appears to me that, the site you need help with is using the open source WordPress.org software and you need to seek help at these forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    I know this can be confusing, but there are two types of WordPress. If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:
