WordPress Uploaded Fonts Not Displaying

Hi! My website was working fine two days ago when I was working on a blog post but yesterday, I started experiencing a number of problems.

First, my site wouldn’t load and I got an error message saying ‘error establishing a database connection.’ Eventually, I was able to get into my site but it was barely loading, from dashboard to site preview. After about 5 minutes, my site preview loaded but everything was messed up. Images weren’t appearing, and my fonts weren’t loading properly. Now, the site is loading but I’m still missing fonts. My heading fonts seem to have reverted back to WordPress’ default fonts. When I enable my Divi visual builder, my fonts are back. But when I exit and preview, they revert to the default wordpress font.

I’ve contacted bluehost and they haven’t been much help. I saw on another wordpress form regarding the same issue something about SSL, but I’m unfamiliar. I’m at a loss and have become very discouraged using wordpress and bluehost. I was told they were the easiest to build and host a website with but I’ve only experienced problem after problem and have probably spent more than 100 hours with support.

Please help me identify and resolve the issue! If it’s helpful, my wordpress app also notified me last night that my website was down and that Jetpack couldn’t connect. When I logged in today, Jetpack had somehow disconnected/uninstalled. I am flabbergasted at all the weird problems I’ve been facing.

    Please help!

We can’t help as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. Only Bluehost support is able to help you as they host your site.

  • Hi there,

Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host trendsofthetimes.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions. You can learn more about the performance and security benefits of our managed hosting here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/

Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current provider. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.

You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, and we offer a migration plugin that will help you move your site to our managed hosting in just a few clicks.

    Import using Move to WordPress.com

The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ There is no need to create a site on WordPress.com before you get star

Unfortunately though, as it stands now, we are not able to help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help.

    Thanks!
