WordPress used for board-of-director candidates…

  I know this is an atypical use for WordPress, but I have to ask.

  Is it possible to set up WordPress so that people who want to run for the board of a homeowners association
  can post their name and experience (so that others in the neighbourhood can see who’s running)?

  Yes, it’s possible for you to create such a blog. The candidates can send their information to you and you can create a blog post and publish it on the blog. See here for a comprehensive tutorial for learning how to blog at WordPress.com.
