I purchased WordPress Value Bundle – just yesterday – and I am already confused!!
What does this statement REALLY mean???!!!“Your old address will still work, but we will automatically redirect traffic from your old address to your new one”.
What?? So, what happens to my posts? my subscribers? my widgets – especially the ones that include “wordpress.com” as part of the (for example) HTML code for the ‘graphics’??
Your help for this domain newbie will be appreciated.

Nothing really happens to anything else, just think of it like a new coat for your existing blog.
Regarding redirects, if you register example.com for example.wordpress.com, all old example.wordpress.com links will redirect to example.com.

sorry….. it’s brain fog…. will I just continue to work as I do now, except the site address is example.com?
I will have only one ‘physical’ space to work from??

Yes, that is correct.
example.com will appear on the front end to visitors, but you’ll still working with example.wordpress.com essentially.
