WordPress Video Player not appearing
-
I bought the space upgrade to upload videos (to use with the WordPress Video Player), but when I upload my video and I insert the video tag (i.e. [video 123]) into a post, the WordPress Video Player doesn’t appear. I think it has something to do with the fact that both videos that I uploaded (which are under the “Browse” tab) never made it to the Video tab (Manage > Uploads > Video). Has anyone else had this problem?

yes, we have quite a lot of folks not pointing us to an example of their problem so we can see what is occuring. :)
never made it into teh upload space? Did you get some sort of error during the upload? What did occur?

I see music on this page using IE6:
http://markhuculak.wordpress.com/hear-mark/
They work fine for me.

Sorry for not including an example. Here is the page where I’ve attempted to post two video clips: http://markhuculak.wordpress.com/watch-mark/ As you can see, the video code appears, but nothing else.
There was no error on the upload. If you link to this clip: http://markhuculak.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/mhuculak_demo_100506.mp4 you should be able to play the video.

Not a problem. :)
Looks like you created the page using the rich text editor and placed the code using the visual editor. Please note that it’s code and should be inputted under the code editor. Even If the file is broken, the clip should still play.
Not sure if mp4 is supported. Here’s the FAQ on the subject and I’m not seeing mp4 in there. You may have to send in a feedback and ask staff if they can review this.
hope this helps,

I’ve noticed a similar error with YouTube vids lately. Try deleting the post entirely and posting again from scratch. I copied everything in the post box, deleted the post, and just pasted it into a new post box and it worked fine. There seems to be no reason on our end for this to happen; it’s probably just that we caught the server in a bad mood. There is NO tweaking I have found that will make the original post work, you must delete and make a new post, although it can have the same title and content. Try that.

The clips are .mp4, and I just had a second look a the upload specs and it appears that it’s not one of the file formats supported. I mistook .m4a for .mp4 (I need to look more closely). I bet that’s why it’s not working. Thanks for the replies.

I did too actually. I’m still wondering if this is an oversight though upon staff’s part. I’d still send in a feedback and ask them for this to be supported.
