WordPress vs Blogger stats
-
A bit of a strange one.
Having recently moved my blog from Blogger to WordPress (with my own domain) I have noticed some significant changes in the traffic stats.
My feeling is that WordPress stats are a lot more accurate than Blogger and are a lot more on the detailed level as Google Analytics. And I feel that Blogger overestimates traffic as it didn’t make sense compared to Google Analytics.
Anyway just wanted to make sure I had not lost significant traffic sources since moving to WordPress.
Thanks,
Anders

Hi @agreenerlifeagreenerworld, can you clarify what change you’re seeing? I won’t be able to see the old stats, but depending on what’s changed, we may be able to help you sort it out.

Hi @supernovia I’m seeing a lot of drop in traffic volumes. But having looked into it Blogger stats are not that accurately, found this article: http://nellieandco.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/blogger-stats-vs-google-analytics.html. It appears it does not only track human traffic but also bots and spam. When I compared my Blogger traffic to Google Analytics for the same period it appears that my WordPress traffic is much along the lines of the latter. I guess what I want to know if is WordPress traffic is only human traffic?
Ideally, I would use Google Analytics here too, but am I right to assume it that I can’t use it on a Premium account?

Right, you would need a business account.
And you are correct, we do our best to filter out traffic from bots.
