WordPress vs Business Catalyst
-
We’ve developed our last website with business catalyst. We’re getting positive info about wordpress and we need to know why we should move to WordPress. We’ve hear that WordPress is better for SEO. But, that its not recommended for ecommerce for larger companies. Well we’re a small company with a large inventory. With our current website we have had problems adapting shipping calculations for different regions in Metro DC, Maryland, Central VA, and VA Beach. Can you give me good points for us to make a decision to stay with BC?
Our Current Website is http://www.ampaevents.com
A newer unfinished version is ampaeventstrial.businesscatalyst.com
Here we used BCgurus.com Template. -
Hi there!
Based on the information you’ve shared, it sounds like you should be checking into self-hosted WordPress over on WordPress.org, not WordPress.com (since we currently do not have any eCommerce options available).
Checking out the information over on WordPress.org is a great way to help with your decision. Check out the documents, the themes, plugins, forums, and so on to get a good feel for what’s available there.
There are also many, many articles available online sharing experiences and reasons for using WordPress, if you’d like to search for those. This one has a good list of reasons: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/241535
Best of luck in making your decision! :)
