WordPress VS Hackaday.com
-
Suddenly one day, on hackaday.com, which normally requires no login, just enter name and email address and post, insisted I must login to WordPress. HaD staff insist they still require no login.
How do I pry WordPress and HaD apart so that things go back to normal? How is WordPress causing this interference? It’s doing it in Firefox, Chrome, and Edge on Windows 10 x64. Until today I’d not ever used Edge for anything with WordPress or the HaD site yet somehow WordPress is interfering!

hi,
I am guessing that gravatar used by HaD to display along with your comments is asking for the WP.com login. If you have a WP.com login connected to the email you use to comment/write on the HaD, it will ask to login to get the gravatar. If you use an email which is not connected to any WP.com account, it will just post your comments.
You could try with an email not connected to WordPress.com account.
Hope that helps.

Hi there,
If you’re providing an email address that is connected to a WordPress.com account when you comment on a site using WordPress.com comments, you will be redirected to log into your account. That is how WordPress.com comments work.
It looks like you only created your WordPress.com account about three weeks ago, which would explain why you didn’t run into this before.
