WordPress wants to charge me for my own domain

    I bought a domain on another website but when I try to change it on WordPress it wants to charge me over 90 dollars for something called WordPress premium.

    Correct account: Yes

    If you want to use your custom domain on the wordpress.com platform, you must have a paid plan, https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    Hi there,

    As @staartmees correctly pointed out, you’ll have to upgrade to one of our plans to connect your domain to a site hosted on our platform (WordPress.com).

    If you find the Premium plan expensive, you can upgrade to the Personal plan, that’s more affordable.

    With the Personal plan, in addition to connecting your domain, you’ll be able to remove the ads, get access to our email support, and increase the site’s storage to 6 GB.
