  java script is not allowed on wordpress.COM blogs. What widget were you trying to add? Maybe theres an alternative way of adding it.

  maybe try out the Meebo widget other then that, I don’t know other options. You could set up a chat room on your blog that can function as a shout box. I use ChatRoll
