Hi,
I really want to renew my domain http://www.bestofbaltimoreblog.com but wordpress will not let me pay $26.00 to do so. This is my small business and I feel that this issues is causing me lose customers. I know that I am three months past renewing but I would like to renew it asap. We can do this over the phone and I can pay through my credit card. I would like to do this soon since this is my small business. When I renew, I want to be ensured that my previous blog posts are still intact on the site. Thanks.

What is the base WordPress.COM blog your name was mapped to?
bestofbaltimoreblog.com – does not seem to be registered with WordPress.COM and that is probably the reason you can not renew it. It looks like the name is past Redemption and about to revert to the wild. Try contacting your registrar and see if they can help

My base wordpress site is: http://www.bestofbaltimoreblog.wordpress.com. I am clicking on the the registrar: COPPERDOMAINNAMESLLC.COM but cannot find the e-mail to send my question to. I would be happy with my website reverting back to bestofbaltimoreblog.wordpress.com though. I am really worried about losing my blog posts.

The content at //bestofbaltimoreblog.wordpress.com/ – is safe and will not go anywhere – (as long as you do not delete the whole blog) – loosing a custom domain name just makes it harder to find your site in search engines and can break many links –
but you will not loose any of your hard work – it is very safe – just under a different name than search engines are used to – this is one of the good things about domain mapping here

I deleted the domain from your account, because it was expired. You can reach your site at “bestofbaltimoreblog.wordpress.com” now. Don’t worry, you will not lose any content. :)
As @auxclass said, the domain is registered at “COPPER DOMAIN NAMES LLC” now, if you didn’t registered, someone else did because you let it expire.

When I looked at the whois – there is no info on the ownership of the domain – that makes me think it might be getting ready to be purged – I would expect some of the staff would have more experience or tools than I have

I am really glad my content is safe. I worked on this website for 5+ years so it was like raising a child.

No – we just can’t tell from the whois – if you can contact your registrar they might be able to retrieve it for you (they will charge a bit of a premium however) – or it might just drift on into the wild and you can register it again – keep checking with a whois and see if it drops and shows available to registrar (that is how I got the name attached to my name – the original person did not use it and let it expire – that was before the hostage takers were much of an industry)
